I have lived in Grayslake for twenty-nine years and my husband and I raised our two sons here. I want the same things from life in Lake County that you do - good roads, reasonable taxes, high quality schools, and respect for the environment.
The challenges we face today in Lake County - traffic congestion, high property taxes, lack of jobs, environmental concerns - demand qualified and effective leaders to address them. In my years as Mayor in Grayslake, and as a County official since 2008, I have demonstrated that I am such a leader.
As Mayor, I was known for my ability to work with others, build consensus, and move forward to solve problems. Three years ago I brought that same attitude to my work on the County and Forest Preserve Boards. I have succeeded in developing relationships in a non-partisan fashion that enable me to work with others to "get things done".
In campaigning for the County Board in 2008, I made promises to prioritize transportation, economic development, the environment, and property tax issues. I have achieved specific accomplishments in each of these areas that demonstrate my ability to represent you and get results. Read more on the Issues & Promises Kept page on this site.
I have been working in local government for fifteen years and I greatly value the ability to effect change that we have at the local level, and I recognize the accountability that I have to each of you. I have been getting the job done these past three years on the County Board and I ask for your support so that I can keep working on your behalf.
As your representative in District 6, I will continue to devote my energy full-time to the job and I will bring all my experience to the table to benefit our community.
